Shuva Israel: In May, 2002 RCF was asked by Rosemary Schindler to bring our portable video studio and record the first Judeo-Christian Congress. While we were there, we were deeply touched by the testimonies of the conference speakers. One speaker, in particular, named Eliezer Braun, spoke at length with regard to educating Christians about the Jewish people and the plight of the newly arrived immigrants to Israel.
Eliezer, consistently takes the time to develop meaningful understanding between the Jewish and Christian communities. With patience and diligence, Eliezer constructs a platform where thoughtful and reasonable conversation can occur between the two communities. Although Eliezer excels at creating dialogue between the two communities, his great passion is for the needs of the immigrants to Judea and Samaria. To satisfy the needs of the new arrivals, Eliezer has created a 501c3 charity called Shuva Israel. For the past four years Shuva Israel has provided 80 percent of the funds distributed by the Samaria Regional Council to the new arrivals. Eliezer asked RCF to support Shuva Israel.
RCF's position on Shuva Israel: We firmly disagree with anti-Semitism and racially motivated discrimination. We believe through reasonable discourse, education and understanding, these evils can be abolished. We wish to support organizations who directly or only tangentially support these goals. Eliezer Braun has proven again and again to engage in reasonable discourse as well as elucidating and elaborating the Jewish position to Christians, by this alone we support Eliezer's endeavors with Shuva Israel.
